The Lead EEG Tech performs all varieties of neurophysiologic monitoring while applying his/her technical skill independently. The Lead Tech is responsible for providing technical supervision of neurodiagnostic testing and monitoring. The Lead Tech will assist in personnel management, quality assessment and assurance to ensure quality and accuracy of interpretation of EEGs performed and program advancement. Neurodiagnostic services can include and are not limited to: electroencephalography (EEG) (routine EEG, inpatient video EEG, ambulatory EEG.)


• Ensures technical proficiency of EEG Technologists.
• Ensures accuracy of information entered in medical record and other information systems.
• Follows all applicable epilepsy program and institutional policies and procedures.
• Participates in and promotes the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of noncompliance with all departmental and institutional policies and procedures.
• Ensures the efficient delivery of EEG Services to inpatients and ambulatory patients.
• Ensures the functionality of EEG Equipment and troubleshooting.
• Order supplies for the EEG lab.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and capital equipment for therapeutic procedures provided.
• Ensures the delivery of safe patient care and maintains a clean, operational and safe environment.

Minimum Education

• A minimum of a High School diploma
• Graduation from a Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program (accredited college or university institution optional).

Minimum Work Experience
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in performing neurodiagnostic procedures.

Required Licenses/Certifications
• Registered EEG Technician
• Current BLS certification

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Communication Management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share and present information to employees, peers and supervisors and appropriate external contacts.
• Equipment operation skills required include functional knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in health care or related field is preferred.
